Personal guide
Set up Lattice Mail in Apple Mail on Mac
Read and send Lattice Mail in the Mail app on your Mac. You need your full Lattice Mail address, the connection settings from your account, and a separate app password created for Apple Mail.
This guide is for a Lattice Personal mailbox ending in @latticemail.com, @lttc.me or @latt.email. Your sign-in email may be different from your mailbox address. Use the mailbox address as the mail-program username.
1. Get your mailbox details
Sign in to Lattice and open Account → Mail. Wait until your mailbox is ready, then find Connect a mail program. Keep that page open while you set up your Mac.
The current shared server settings are below. All three mail domains use the same servers. If the settings shown in your account change, use your account's current values.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Account type | IMAP |
| Username | Your full Lattice Mail address, including its domain |
| Incoming server | mx-test.inbound-test.latticesuite.io |
| Incoming port | 993 |
| Outgoing server | mx-test.inbound-test.latticesuite.io |
| Outgoing port | 465 |
| Connection security | TLS/SSL for both servers |
| Authentication | Password, using the Lattice app password from the next step |
Copy the server name exactly. It is shared infrastructure, so it does not have to match the domain in your address. Do not replace it with a guessed name such as imap.lttc.me.
2. Create an app password for this Mac
In Account → Mail, find App passwords. Give the new password a recognizable name, such as Apple Mail on Mac. Enter your Lattice account password in the Lattice form and, if you use MFA, the requested authenticator or recovery code. Select Create app password.
Copy the newly generated app password into Apple Mail while it is visible. Lattice shows it only once. If you dismiss it or lose it, remove that entry and create another. Choose I have saved it when you have finished.
Use a separate app password for each mail program or device. That lets you remove one device's access without changing the others.
3. Add the account in Apple Mail
Open Mail on your Mac and choose Mail → Add Account. Enter your Lattice Mail address. If a provider list appears, choose Other Mail Account and follow the account-entry prompts.
Use your name, your full Lattice mailbox address and the generated app password. If Mail asks for manual setup, choose IMAP and enter the incoming and outgoing server details above. Use the same full mailbox address and app password for outgoing authentication.
The password you put into Apple Mail is the generated app password. Your ordinary Lattice account password is used on Lattice's account screen, not as the IMAP or SMTP password.
4. Check the connection settings
In Mail, choose Mail → Settings → Accounts, select your Lattice account and open Server Settings. If you need to set ports manually, deselect Automatically manage connection settings for the relevant server. Check incoming port 993, outgoing port 465, Use TLS/SSL, and password authentication. Save any changes.
Apple's screens vary by macOS version. Its account setup instructions and Server Settings reference explain the available controls.
5. Test receiving and sending
Send a short message from another email account you control to your Lattice mailbox. Check that it arrives in Apple Mail. Then reply from the Lattice account and check receipt in the other inbox. Verify both directions before relying on the new setup.
If you can receive but cannot send
Check the outgoing server separately. It needs your full mailbox username and app password too. Confirm port 465 and TLS/SSL, and make sure Mail is using your Lattice outgoing account for the message. A temporary sending-limit refusal is different from a password error; follow the Mail sending-limit guidance.
If the password is rejected
Check that you used your primary mailbox address rather than your sign-in email or an alias, and that the password came from Create app password. A removed app password will no longer work. If you cannot retrieve the generated password, create a replacement on Lattice and update both server entries in Apple Mail.
If there is a certificate warning, stop and recheck the hostname, TLS setting and your Mac's date and time. Do not disable encryption or accept an untrusted certificate to get connected. If the problem remains, contact Lattice support without including passwords or private messages.
Disconnect an old Mac
Remove its named entry from Account → Mail → App passwords. Once removal has finished, that credential can no longer read or send mail. Removing a credential does not erase messages that a device already downloaded.
